"It's Too Late" by Carole King will probably never be properly appreciated by our generation. It's fucking amazing.

I've always dug that song. The phrase "something inside has died and I can't hide and I just can't fake it" runs through my head pretty often, the instrumentation on that song is really really tight. "Bum, bum-bum, bum-bum bum-bum," like a heartbeat.

Why do you think our generation can't appreciate it?

I had NO IDEA she was such an accomplished songwriter, read the wiki article just now. The Shirelles?! Wow!

I just think most of us won't even discover it. I put on Tapestry for the hell of it, and then mentioned to like five people that they should listen to it again, and they were like "What's Tapestry?"

Also, new Kanye if you want it:

The Tapestry album was a very influential album for me, it came out as I was deciding to go into piano from guitar. I learned every song (I was 17). We still have songs from that record on our setlist today; You’ve Got a Friend, and I Feel the Earth Move. People who contributed to Tapestry are still among my very favorite artists: James Taylor (listening to him now), Joni Mitchell, Russ Kunkel (plays drums for JT and Lyle, and countless hit records).
